FAQ
Frequently asked.
- What is BDSMPact?
- A non-commercial reference site for adults exploring BDSM. Essays, guides, glossary, mapped activities, and a quiz. Consent-first, harm-reduction-minded, no lifestyle posturing.
- Is this a beginner site?
- Partly. The essays "BDSM for Beginners" and "What Is BDSM?" are written for people new to the subject. The activity pages and protocol guides are useful for newer and more experienced readers both.
- Do I have to sign up for anything?
- No. There are no accounts. The quiz and kink list run entirely in your browser. You can save your progress by bookmarking the URL — your answers are encoded in it.
- Are you selling anything?
- No. There are no products, no advertisers, no affiliate links. The newsletter is free and one-click to unsubscribe.
- Where do your facts come from?
- Every page lists its sources at the bottom. We cite primary sources (studies, community-historical writing, established harm-reduction literature) when claims rely on them. See editorial standards for the full process.
- What if I disagree with something on the site?
- Tell us. Corrections and source suggestions go to hello@bdsmpact.com. We update pages when we get it wrong and we mark the change.
- Is BDSM safe?
- Some BDSM activities are very low-risk and some carry real physical risk that needs informed practice. The framing acronyms (SSC, RACK, PRICK) all point at the same idea: it works because the people doing it have agreed in advance and understand what they're doing. See the consent guide and the safewords guide for the safety baseline.
- Can I link to BDSMPact pages?
- Yes, freely. We don't require attribution beyond a normal link. We appreciate when sites link to us.
